My skin care routine!!

Now don’t get me wrong I don’t have skin from the heavens, but it is extremely clear. At the moment I am working on ridding myself of small dark marks I have from not properly handling blemishes in the past. But I have managed to accomplish completely clear skin! Here’s what I use:

1: Alpha Hydrox “Foaming Face Wash”
2: Alpha Hydrox “Spot Light” Targeted Skin Lightener
And finally
3: COCONUT OIL!!

The Alpha Hydrox face wash is absolutely amazing! It is designed for all skin types and what attracted me to the product is the fact that it advertises that it “leaves your skin at the proper pH for effective use”. ( That’s what the bottle says) lol

Us naturals are all about pH balance and all that stuff so I figured why not give it a try!

I also have a girlfriend who told me that Alpha Hydrox had an amazing spot light cream that rid her of her dark marks in a month. That is what lead me to the face wash. I went to purchase the cream..and picked up the face wash.

The two work wonders together! Within no time (literally) I saw my face clearing up and my dark marks were disappearing! FINALLY! GOOD LORD!

And as we all know there are many benefits of coconut oil, so I decided to use that as my facial moisturizer after using both products.

Now I have never experienced any dryness of my skin while using this product, I decided to add the coconut oil as a plus…it acts as an antibiotic so I figured why not let it kill pimples n stuff.

After using the wash and the cream..I get my (ORGANIC RAW UNREFINED) Coconut oil and slob it all over my face. LOL I go to sleep greasy but I wake up with my face completely clean and the oil is halfway dissolved within my skin and my arms and maybe my pillow who knows lol.

Anywhoo…all 3 products work wonders for me! I haven’t had a pimple in 3 and a half months!! AND IM NOT KIDDING!

I would always get blemishes around my menstrual cycle..but since using this product I have been acne free. You think I’m gonna stop? Nope.

The Alpha Hydrox can be purchased at Ulta Beauty.
The coconut oil…now come on naturals? Must I tell u where to get that from? Lol

See u guys.

Shea Butter as a sealant?

Okay so it’s the winter time, and I know some of is have problems keeping our natural hair moist during this season. Shea butter acts as a sealant to keep hair moist. It’s one of the best products to use after deep conditioning. Put in your hair oil or whatever works for you, and slab some of this stuff on top to keep your hair nice and soft!! Remember to only use organic unrefined Shea Butter.

Co-Washing VS Shampoo-ing

Okay…
So us naturals try a plethora of things. What most have adopted is the art of “Co-Washing”. For those of you who may not know, co-washing is simply using a conditioner (sulfate free preferred) as your clarifying shampoo.

They say that this bring moisture into your hair, and keeps it strong, shiny, clean, frizz free and blah blah. I on the other hand…agree to a certain extent.

When I co-wash, it’s usually when I feel like it’s about the time I washed all of my product build up from my hair. Let me take you guys back a bit…

I am not totally new to the natural hair community. For a year I tried transitioning, tried many ideas and tricks to get my hair back to its natural state. I learned much and did plenty of research. Only this year did I decide to make the decision to big chop.
Back to what I was saying…

Since having waited awhile before deciding to wash the product build up from my hair, a co- wash just wouldn’t do it for me.
My hair would most definitely be moist, frizz free and all that, but it also didn’t feel like it would if I had used a regular organic/sulfate free shampoo.

When I use a shampoo, it actually gets the product from my hair and scalp. My scalp feels cleaner and fresh, and my hair can move and feel like hair! Not like…idk..like grease. Lol

It may work for many, but I chose to stick with a shampoo. I use Organics “Biotin and Collagen” shampoo…and I deep condition with Shea Moistures “Restorative Conditioner”. Which gives my hair LIFEEEE!

What do you guys think about co-washing?
